Case studies
Here are just a few examples of the GPs that we help on a regular basis. Please take a look at our newsletters for more beneficiary stories.
GP with long Covid
A GP unable to work following an acute Covid infection and subsequent complications. The GP had used all her savings and accumulated credit card debt whilst trying to support her family.
The Fund was able to assist with a monthly grant while the doctor waited for her NHS ill health pension to start.
“I want to thank you for your essential and kind support over the last 2 years. It has been utterly crucial to my family.”
Long-term beneficiary
A GP who had been struggling with ill health for a number of years.
The Cameron Fund was able to provide grants to help with essential living costs and occasions when emergency care was needed until a full care package was put in place.
“The Cameron Fund have truly been a lifeline for us over the past few years. I’m only in my early 40s, but have been largely bed bound since 2016, and now require 24/7 care and supervision. Subsequently, my husband also had to dramatically reduce his own working hours to help care for me. Without the support of the Cameron Fund we would not have been able to afford the most basic of living expenses, let alone our mortgage. We are hugely grateful for all their support. It has made such an enormous difference to us, and has made an extraordinarily difficult few years that bit more manageable. Many, many thanks, from the bottom of our hearts!”
GP with a young family
A locum GP with a long-term health condition.
The Cameron Fund supported this GP and his young family for several years during the times when he was unable to work.
"If it weren't for the help /support from the Cameron Fund, then I would have been in a lot of financial difficulty in years gone by. I cannot thank you enough for your kind help and support throughout the years, through times of significant hardship in terms of my health and finances. As ever, I remain determined and motivated to work as much as I can where my health permits, so that I can support my family. Many thanks for your kind help and co-operation."
